Eighteen-year-old Clive Campbell (DJ Kool Herc) and his friend Coke La Rock are often called the fathers of hip-hop. Two teenagers from the Bronx decided to try something a little different while entertaining guests at their sister's court yard. The party took place at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the South Bronx.
