In order to get an idea of \u200b\u200bthe original themes associated with the birth of hip hop, it is important to understand its historical context. Hip-hop was born in the African-American and Latino neighborhoods of New York, where street culture remained isolated from white neighborhoods. In this post-industrial era, when political discourse was raging in the US, black and Latino residents in New York City were written off as marginalized communities. After the election of President Ronald Reagan in 1981, conditions in these communities worsened. The intensification of social issues related to police brutality, poverty, prisons, oppression and unemployment became a major factor in the birth of hip-hop.
